11/8/2019 0 Comments Final reflectionOn the first day of the class, I had prior knowledge to the basics and the composition rules of photography. Further into the first week, I didn't have much trouble first getting started with using the camera and had done pretty well for the first assignment. For the shooting assignments, I didn't get many good pictures for the first assignment which was 'Nature' for me. Later in the trimester, I worked on categories that were more outside of my comfort zone, but I gradually got better with working with the ISO mostly. Here are some of my photos that didn't turn out to well. On the other hand, here are some pictures that showed great improvement. I consider these some of my best throughout the trimester. Out of all the photos I had taken, these were the two that stood out the most to me, which were my favorites. I learned a lot in photoshop considering I had never used it before. When I first used photoshop, it took a while for me to get a hold of how to use all the different tools. One of the first tools I used was the stamp tool, which we later used on photoshop car assignments, this was the easiest tool for me. Photoshop techniques helped me edit my photos greatly throughout the trimester. Also, during the course of the trimester we were given photoshop assignments and these were some of my favorites.

11/4/2019 0 Comments photo 7, still lifeFor the last photo assignment I tried to focus on the category of still life. I used my phones camera to attempt a blurry background and I learned more about using the technique of dash of color to change my photos around and I got creative during this idea of photography and created a lot of blur in the background.
11/1/2019 0 Comments photoshop tutorialsFor this part of the assignment, I decided to do a photoshop effect called ' Dash of Color'. This photoshop edit was one of the easier ones I did. I learned how to contrast an image using the history brush and further learned how to desaturate pictures/ I liked this editing style because it enhances a certain focus point and exaggerates the color. For the next image, I tried to work on a different effect called "glitch". I went on YouTube and found a tutorial for it and went step by step to create a more detailed and unique picture of my friend, Laci. I learned how to use different photo layers furthermore and how to create this new look for my images of a glitch effect. This was very fun to edit and something I would do again. I also worked with cropping my images. The next editing technique I used was called dispersion effect. This one was the hardest and included the most tools for me to use. I am proud of how this one turned out and if I were to have the time to edit a picture like this again, I would. I learned for this effect how to use photo layers in a more complex way. Also, I used different types of brushes on backgrounders layers and copy of layers. At the end of my editing, I used a gradient filter to exaggerate the color of background and the cheetah print on her shirt. This was my favorite picture to edit and I enjoy the way it turned out. diversion effect : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xgOWWfurpU glitch effect : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWiKrixVSbM
10/28/2019 1 Comment photo 6, landscapeFor this assignment I decided to work on landscape. My goal was to capture as much diversity against the opposite color of trees that I could. This was one of my favorite assignments and I enjoyed going out and enjoying the view of fall. For editing, I decided to brighten the photo and add a greater contrast for the picture to bring out the color of the leaves further. I learned how to adjust the brightness with the camera and learned how to align my photos better with the trees. I also got more experience with using the ISO and light meter.
10/25/2019 0 Comments multiple meFor this assignment we had to take multiple pictures of people with the same background and put them into photoshop to edit. In photoshop, we had to use a assorts tool to select the person and edit them into a single picture instead of 5. I learned how to edit and used more tools in photoshop. It was also one of my first times shooting in manual so it was difficult for me but I tried to make it work.
10/21/2019 1 Comment photo assignment , shadows and lightFor the 5th photo assignment, I focused on shadows and light to create contrast with the way the sun showed on my dog.
I learned different ways to show the sun on an object and this assignment had to deal with changing the camera factors to get the right amount of lighting on my pictures.
10/17/2019 1 Comment school contextFor this assignment we had to take apicture around the school then edit it in photoshop with previous techniques we learned to create a different scenery. I learned even more photoshop tools such as the gradient tool and magic wand. I also learned how to add other images into another image to use creativity and make something different. I really enjoyed this assignment to create a new scene.

I learned that taking photos of food is an easy opportunity to capture the texture of the item and I did more work in photoshop with the stamp tool.
10/14/2019 0 Comments panoramaFor this assignment we had to take multiple pictures and photo merge them in photoshop to create a panoramic. I learned how to stitch as many as up to 24 images together and I learned to take photos with at least 30% overlap for panoramas. I liked this assignment because it was easy and fun to learn a new skill.
10/7/2019 0 Comments photo assignment 3, peopleAperture ; F3.5 Shutter Speed ; 1/80 ISO ; 100 For this assignment I decided to focus on taking pictures of people. I ended up taking pictures of my friend Laci while we were in Chicago which seemed to be easy because she enjoyed posing and letting me take pictures of her. I learned how different angles to use while taking pictures of other people. In some of the pictures I tried my best to use contrast and a faster shutter speed to capture the most emotion out of the person I was taking pictures of. I enjoyed this photo assignment because I find it more entertaining and easier to take pictures of acting and living things.
